Privacy policy
This policy explains what the Fifty app (“the app”) does with information. We have kept the app simple on purpose: there are no user accounts, and we do not run a server that collects your data.
In short
- No user accounts and no sign-up.
- Your games, players, settings and background picture are stored only on your device.
- The app is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. Google processes some data to show and measure ads (see below).
- In Europe the app asks for your consent first, and on iPhone it may also ask for tracking permission.
- The app is not directed at children under 13.
- Deleting the app deletes all the data the app has stored.
What stays on your device
The app stores the following only on your phone. We cannot see it and it is never uploaded:
- games in progress and finished games (scores and throws),
- the players you add (names and colours),
- your settings (language, theme, accent colour, the rules you used last, ad consent state),
- a background picture, if you choose one. You pick it with the system’s photo picker, and the app keeps a private copy inside its own storage.
Ads and Google AdMob
The app is free and is supported by ads. The ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google). To show, measure and protect ads, Google may collect and use:
- device identifiers, such as the advertising ID,
- your IP address and the approximate location derived from it,
- usage and diagnostic information about the app and the ads, such as ad views and interactions, device model and operating system version.
Google collects and processes this data under its own policies. We do not receive it; we only see summary statistics such as the number of ad impressions. Read more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
The ads appear as a banner on the game screen, as a full-screen ad after a game and as an ad when the app is opened. No ad is ever shown in the middle of a throw.
Your consent choices
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other regions where the law requires it, the app shows Google’s consent form (UMP, User Messaging Platform) before the first ad is requested. Your choice decides whether ads may be personalised.
You can review or change your choice at any time in the app: Settings → Ads and privacy → Ad privacy settings (shown where consent applies).
Tracking permission on iPhone
After the consent form, the app may ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites (Apple’s App Tracking Transparency). If you say no, you can still use the whole app and you still see ads, but they are not personalised using that kind of tracking.
You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or in the app’s own settings page in iOS Settings.
Advertising ID on Android
On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your phone’s settings (usually under Privacy → Ads).
App updates
The app can receive updates to its code over the air through Expo’s EAS Update service. When the app starts, it contacts Expo’s servers to check for an update. Like any internet connection, this reveals technical information to Expo, such as your IP address, platform and app version. We do not receive personal information through this. See the Expo privacy policy.
Children
The app is meant for the whole family but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app tells Google that it is not child-directed and limits ads to content rated PG or milder.
If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will help.
Deleting your data
We do not keep your data on a server, so there is nothing for us to delete. Deleting the app from your phone removes all games, players, settings and the background picture.
Data that Google holds for ads is managed in your Google Account, in My Ad Center.
Your rights
Because we do not process your personal data ourselves, requests about data used for ads should be made to Google, which acts as an independent controller for it. For anything else, you can contact us and we will answer you.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
